About Me
She practices, and is trained in: EMDR (EMDR Israel), Somatic Intervention (Rikki Bernstein), Integral Somatic Psychology (Dr. Raja Selvam), Polyvagal Theory (Rikki Bernstein & Deb Dana), Brainspotting (Brainspotting Israel), EFT (Emotion Freedom Technique) Safe Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest Restore Program (RRP).
Articles she has written include "Inviting Your Body to Set You Free: A Mind/Body Approach to the Treatment of Trauma"and "Achieving a Peaceful Postpartum Through the Treatment of EMDR," which was featured in the November 2014 edition of The Birth Handbook.
Over the years, her practice has been further enriched by decades of spiritual study- including learning Torah and Chasidus from prominent teachers and rabbis in Jerusalem, participating, as well as mentoring, at renowned Jewish Meditation retreats and traveling to kivrei tzaddikim in Israel and Europe. She served as a staff member on the Breslov Research Institute’s first women’s trip to holy sites in the Ukraine.
From a young age, Yocheved felt deeply attuned to emotions and energy which inspired her work as a somatic trauma therapist and facilitator. She is lighthearted, compassionate and nonjudgemental. She relishes a good laugh! .Clients often come to her after years of talk therapy that has not alleviated their pain and symptoms. This understandably causes them to feel “stuck” and it is not their fault. This is why she believes in healing modalities that are backed by neuroscience research that help enable shifts in the subconscious and body.
Yocheved has over 15 years experience in the therapy world. She received her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from The Wurzweiler School of Social Work (Yeshiva University), followed by a one- year clinical internship at Neve Family Therapy Institute. She has worked for various agencies and organizations as a therapist, group therapist, as well as supervisory roles. The populations she has worked with include: recovering addicts, survivors of abuse, people with chronic illness and those going through end- of -life transitions. She has counseled teenagers and young adults at risk. She has received clients from NITZA, an organization dedicated to helping mothers with postpartum needs, and has provided healing to women who suffered traumatic birthing experiences.
